A very interesting half hour. Thank you!
I think Cornwall has joined the ranks of those places that are victims of their own success. As you imply...very sad!
Just back from Cornwall a couple of weeks ago.Stayed at Harlyn. Been coming here since I was a kid. Used to stay on Mrs Bennett's farm at the other end of the bay. No caravans then. My yearly trip this year was not good. Padstow was a nightmare. Couldn't move. So many dogs and now the giant dog poo bins a permanent feature. The Padstow band stand disused ?. Maybe I'm getting to old for Corwall now ?. Where have all the locals gone ? There seams to be something missing now ?. Both my parents ashes are scattered there along the golden sand. They loved the place so much. The last troubled picture in my mind was watching a lady dig hole in the sand and bury her black bag of dog poo on the beach ! ! !. Maybe I will come down at Christmas with snow on the beech and have a quiet time.
Im a transplanted cornishman. ur site shortens the mileage home
everything that person said!
A great site. Thanks! What an interesting life you have led! You are right - we only come this way once!
I am very glad I found this page, you make awesome paintings! Greetings from Germany
Just received an antique birthday card which my friends father had given her years ago. 'Waves' by Larry Johns. I just love it. Painted by a Cornishman whose ancestors were Cornish miners, made it all the better !
Regarding your comments - "The nice couple who bought this canvas asked me whether it depicted a cloudy day or a moonlit night." My wife and I bought that canvas in the Bank St. Gallery in Newquay in 1995. Love it and still have it!
I was here a couple of years ago. Good to see you've at last got this site mobile-friendly!
